IDAHOBIT – International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia Leave a comment

Today – Friday, 17 May – is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), a day to stand against the prejudice, fear, violence and marginalisation that members of the LGBTQIA+ community continue to face in their daily lives. It’s also a day for LGBTQIA+ people to celebrate themselves and their community, and for allies to commit in solidarity to making the world better and safer.

This year’s theme for IDAHOBIT is justice and protection for all.

In many places around the world, LGBTQIA+ people also face injustice and live in fear and danger.

This is why more legal and policy reforms are essential to ensure justice and protection for all LGBTQIA+ people around the world.

Within Australian Eco Print, I feel immensely proud to work in an organisation where I feel I can be myself and where my diversity and identity are genuinely valued, in a company that promotes safe and inclusive environments for everyone in the community. I recognise, however, that there is always be more to be done to improve our equality and inclusion practices. We will continue to focus on improving the experience of our LGBTQIA+ staff, stakeholders and allies.
